Welcome I’m Angelica
I am a qualified BACP registered Person-centred therapist. My work is deeply rooted in connection, acceptance and compassion. I believe therapy can support you not only through difficult times, but also in everyday life and its many challenges.
Being a neurodivergent person, my experiences navigating a world that doesn’t always accommodate difference have taught me the importance of acceptance and understanding. I know firsthand that being different doesn’t mean being less than, and this perspective shapes the way I work - I appreciate that everyone sees and experiences the world in their own unique way, and I hold space for that in therapy.
I began my professional journey as an esthetician, where holding people’s stories with care inspired me to move into counselling. Today I continue to value that privilege - meeting people with empathy, presence and respect.
I am passionate about mindful self-compassion and helping people discover what self-care means for them - it doesn’t look the same for everyone. Outside of work I am a proud owner of a golden retriever, who reminds me that time in nature truly nourishes the soul.
In our sessions, you can bring all of who you are - every feeling, thought and part of yourself. Together we’ll explore what feels important, in a safe and supportive space.
My Approach & Training
I completed a BSc in Person-Centred Pluralistic Counselling as an Advanced Practitioner at the Metanoia Institute. My training included a wide range of creative methods to support clients as they move through pain, challenges and personal growth.
As part of my professional development, I have also engaged in my own personal therapy throughout my training - an experience that has been deeply enlightening. It has shown me, first-hand, the transformative power of being offered a safe, non-judgmental space where you can truly be yourself.
My approach is rooted in the Person-centred Pluralistic philosophy and way of being. In practice, this means I will tailor our work to your individual needs and honour your unique experience. I aim to meet you as a fellow human being - with curiosity, warmth, and respect.
Together, we will work at a pace that feels right for you, exploring your experiences and the meaning they hold. I will support you in cultivating self-compassion and self-care, in whatever form that takes for you. Our sessions can help you to express your needs more confidently, navigate the challenges of both past and present, and make sense of what matters most to you.
Ultimately, my hope is that our work together enables you to come home to yourself.
Person-centred
Person-centred counselling, sometimes called client-led counselling, is based on the principle that you are the expert of your own world. I truly believe this - you know yourself best. While this may feel daunting at first, my approach means we gently and tentatively explore your experiences together, supporting and promoting your expertise in your own life.
Pluralism
Pluralism is a philosophy rooted in collaboration and personal preference. For me this means working with you, not for you, to identify what you need from counselling at any given time. I hold a deep appreciation that these needs are ever-changing, and our work together is flexible to reflect that.
Inclusivity Statement:
As a qualified neurodivergent pluralistic person-centred counsellor, I believe each person is unique with their own story, values and ways of making meaning of the world. I aim to create a warm, respectful space where you can be fully yourself, without fear of judgement or expectation. Whatever your background, identity, culture or life experience, you are welcomed and valued here. Our work together will be shaped around you, your needs and what matters most to you.
